Hurricane party anyone?

Yeah, I know. Now is not the time for a party. I know that I would feel much better if I were 300-400 miles from New Orleans right now, but I'll just have to live with being 3 miles from the Lake as the bird flies. Oh well, me and the other 6 people here will just have to sit, wait and worry.

I'm not worried about the weather so much (although I have had my mini-daymares about things that could happen) as I am worried about the water. I'm thankful that it has weakened a bit and I hope it doesn't strenthen back up before landfall. But either way, if water is what I'm worried about it isn't going to make a difference. It it keeps moving 17 mph, we're going to get water anyway. I just wish I could know how much. With Katrina, another 3 blocks of water and this house would have flooded. We got lucky. Bah...I seriously hope I'm worried about nothing.

Anyway, I'm gonna go finish getting things settled down so I can have a place for the kids to sleep. I wish everyone luck and will be in touch as soon as I can after this.

3rd times the charm apparently today.. *HUGS* I hope you and everyone else that is down there makes it through Gustav safely and with no damage! Please let me know as soon as you can that you're ok.
