Man oh Man oh man
Nov. 20th, 2008 12:30 pmI really with I could write about something else for a change. But I can't, so I guess I'll stick with what I've got. More stress and blech stuff...
I just picked my mom up from the hospital...again. She went in on Tuesday when she was blacking out enough that another teacher saw it, dragged her out to a vehicle and drove her stubborn, argumentative ass to the ER. This time, rather than CICU, they stuck her up in telemetry. My god the difference in care is un-fucking-believable. They were horrendous and I was not happy. The Doctors though, they could be counted on to be the same uninformative, unhelpful masses that they were last week and last month. At least this time they told her what the problem is. Couldn't even get that out of them last week. For some reason (reason unknown to them...grrrr) the electric impulses to her heart are causing her heart rate to jump around from 80-190 bps. That's what is causing the temporary black outs. They don't know why it's happening, but they know *what* is happening. So (and this is a little sketchy too) supposedly they are going to go in on Monday and cauterize part of her heart. They believe this will stop the immediate problem. I have a hundred zillion questions about it, but they aren't talking to her and I haven't been around when they showed up. Soooooo.... I stay uninformed and worried.
Meanwhile, between school, work and other shit, I'm stressed! Part of the other shit is that I might have to find a new job soon. They still haven't heard back about the new money for the grant from the Board of Regents, so I don't know if I'll have a job with UNO at all next semester. So I've been peeking at my resume in the last couple of days to see what I need to do to get it updated. Oi.
Ok...back to school shit.
