autumnluv143I had a day. I was running about 10 minutes late for work, which I hate...and when I'm finally about a mile from the park, there is a car accident. I'm one of the first people there, so being first aid certified and calm in a crisis, I pulled over and got out to see if I could help until the ambulance got there.
The woman's car was smashed in (engine on dashboard type)badly enough that she was trapped by her door and steering wheel. I checked out the car to see if she was in an immediate danger and then checked her and asked her if there was anything serious wrong. She assured me that she was ok, but she was starting to panic because she could smell smoke and thought the car was going to catch on fire. I tried to calm her down..the smoke was from the radiator and the little bit of wind was blowing it right in her face. I needed to check on the truck that was in the ditch. I got down to it and leaned in to be able to see the old man in the cab seizing. I tried to get him to respond to me and got nothing, so another guy that was there tried to get in the back window of the truck and open the side door but it was jammed. We found a hammer and I broke the side window when the nurse came up. I had cut myself pretty bad on the finger so I backed up and let the nurse try to get in there.
After that I had my finger wrapped while it was still bleeding and helped the other guy direct traffic until the sheriff got there. They kept asking me if I was in the accident but I had to assure them I was ok. Finally they relieved my traffic duties so that I could get to work. I got there and turned on the computer for the ranger and then let him know that he was going to have to work it because i was going to the ER to have it stitched up. I managed to make it back to work 4 hours later.
After that kind of adrenaline rush, I'm really not surprised that I was falling asleep on the way home from work.
Going to get some good sleep tonight.

I miss you so much. It's weird since you were here for a week, and you've only been gone a few days and it feels like it's been forever already. Having you here was the best time of my entire life, and despite it being selfish, I hope you can move.... I love being around you and just knowing you get me, even though you think I'm a complete lunatic half the time lol
I hope you're okay and if you have time, try and call me on Sunday. I'm leaving for the mountains tomorrow for a special dinner with Wayne and Yolanda... I hope you get to meet them, they're my "other parents" lol you'll love Wayne... he's a big ole itallian "papa" and a total teddy bear with a caustic mouth. *chuckle*
