I'm sitting here listening to a song by Janis Joplin called "Ball and Chain" and it never fails. Everytime I hear it, I get chills that run all over my arms and up and down my spine. It makes me roll my head back on my neck and sway to the beat. There are so many songs that have an effect on me in so many different ways like that. With most deep blues and certain types of jazz (like Miles Davis - It never Entered My Mind) I get aroused. It makes my hair stand up on the back of my neck and my nipples get hard. I can't explain this other than the sounds have an effect on my body that my mind can't (or doesn't want to) control.

(Just as I'm typing that, that Miles Davis song comes on)

I would love to hear from everyone else. What kinds of music turn you on? What kinds turn you off and what is the music that has hit your soul harder and faster than anything you've ever experienced? Whether you just list names or explain how it makes you feel...I just want to know.

The song Living in Electric Dreams from the movie Electric Dreams makes me just stop and my mind soars. There's something about the beat and tune that just makes me very energetic and want to be with someone.
Of course anything from ELO or Moody Blues makes me feel romantic. It's not sexual per se, but romantic. Now, Depeche Mode is a different story. I will always associate them with being sexual. You'd have to know my history to better understand that one, but it's true.

Everyone would probably expect me to scream, "Type O Negative! Danzig!" which, to a degree are true answers, but more than anything... Led Zeppelin.
