I'm too fat.
Aug. 3rd, 2006 03:30 pmSo a girl I'm working with came up to me today and gave me a post-it with nothing but a name and phone number on it. I wasn't sure what to think until she told me that she just signed up to be screened to be in a medical study that is trying out a new drug for weight-loss. The task is a year long and pays up to $1550. Well hell yeah, I'm going to go for that, so I call and leave my number.
The guy called me back a few minutes ago and told me about the study, about the drug and everything else and I was all ready for it. He begins by asking me my height (5'10") and my weight (312 lbs). Well so it's been discovered that not only am I fat, but I'm too fat.
That's right.
I'm too fat to participate in a fat study.
Does that also mean that I'm too fat to lose weight that way?
Not really sure where to go from here with that kind of information. The study has to operate within a certain BMI. I have a BMI of 1.3% more than what they are looking for. I'm not ginormous, just too fat to be directly involved with this study.
I think I'll go home and eat brownie dough.
Then I'll watch that Pilates DVD I bought. (Note that I didn't say I'd use it, just watch).

Funny, though. :P
Can't wait to buy that stuff! ;) I'm quite certain I'd be too fat to use their products, too.
::assuming professional demeanor:: This is the appropriate, psychologically and emotionally healthy manner in which to respond to your experience ... as long as ice cream is also involved.
And, watching the Pilates DVD is correct. One should always *watch* first, to make sure that one completely understands the various moves required before breaking the DVD into a million pieces and using them as violent confetti.
:)
Did I mention I joined a gym six months ago? Truly, I actually like the way my body feels when I move a lot. It gets my endorphins going and makes my body work better in general (toned muscles and all). Every time I get sick, I have to stop going for a couple of weeks and I get pissy and depressed.
Hope you're doing well. Miss you!
