Amazing

I witnessed something pretty cool. We have a girl that works in my department who has only been with the company about 4 months. She's very cool and very smart. She's originally from Togo, Africa. She speaks with this thick African based French accent. Anyway, the other day she wasn't at work because she found out that her mom (who is back in Africa)had died. Well she's been pretty upset and they are going to hold off the burial until next month. It's been pretty rough. I can't imagine being 1600 miles away and having something like that happen, much less on the other side of the world.

Anyway, I got to see the whole branch I work for as well as the company get together and raise $700 to help with her airfare home. Considering that no one knows her very well, the really rallied together for her. I'm pretty amazed. She was so thankful and I'm glad I got to witness it.

aww that's so awesome! It's things like this that remind me why I'm glad we're humans, when we show compassion and such.
