Only because I can never remember them when I am book shopping, I'm putting my book wishlist here so I can reference it.

Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand
Fountainhead - Ayn Rand
This Perfect Day - Ira Levin
Entire Witching Hour series - Anne Rice
All books by Chuck Pohliniuk (sp)

Damnit! There were more and I've already forgotten. That's ok, I will come back to this.

On that note, does anyone have any suggestions? I love books that tell a story. I don't care fiction/nonfiction. I just love something that I can really get into.

This Perfect Day was good. In fact, I liked most of Ira Levin's works. If you like historical-themed fiction, try any of the "biographies" by Irving Stone. My particular favorite is "Love Is Eternal", a story about the romance between Abraham and Mary Lincoln. I also liked The Agony & The Ecstacy, which is about Michaelangelo.

This Perfect Day is a book my mom recommended to me when I was about 12. I read it then and have re-read it probably a thousand times.

I've always wanted to read The Agony & The Ecstasy. That's one of those books that I just don't think about when I'm shopping though. Thanks!

Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Heck really anything by those two! American Gods by Gaiman was pretty damn good too. But Good Omens was funnier.

I Know This Much To Be True and She's Come Undone, both by Wally Lamb (they can both be very upsetting at times, so be warned)
Plainsong bye Kent Haruf
A Woman of the People by Benjamin Kapps
The Breadgivers (which I'm currently re-reading)... and it's upstairs so I can't think of the author's name
Out of the Corner of his Eye - Dean Koontz (i think this is his best book)
Surfing Armageddon - George Tabb (it's autobiographical)
Summer Sisters - Judy Blume
Peter Straub books usually suck me in for days
I could go on and on and on, but I'll let it rest for now...

I haven't heard of most of those at all! But if they are recommended, I'm all about looking them up. Especially if they are recommended by you.

I have, however, read Summer Sisters. I'm not sure how I came to own this particular book but I was really very impressed with how good it was. I'd read all of Blume's children's books growing up. I always enjoyed them and wasn't sure how I'd like her jump from children to adult. She tells a great story, no matter who she's tell it to! GMTA girl!

I have a small stack of books from that book review site that I'm on...want them? I've got several genres to pick from. Oh and if you happen to enjoy reading and reviewing books you can always join the crack addiction that is www.bookfetish.org

If you are looking to get rid of books, I will absolutely take them. When I moved from Colorado, to save on space and such, I had to give away most of my books. Now that I am permanent in Louisiana I'm going to start collecting again. I've bookmarked the page too.

I have a very well-read copy of "The Fountainhead" that you're welcome to. I also have a rather dog-earred copy of "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" by Tom Wolfe that you can borrow if you like.

I don't get up to BR very often or I would borrow them. I am very very bad about returning stuff though. Mostly because I just flat-out forget. I am going to purchase them that way I can add them to my collection and I won't have to worry about my addle-pated brain getting in the way! LOL
