To Dixie on your birthday.

Several years ago, I met someone that radiated. I've knew, as soon as I met her, that she was special. She's a person that even when she's down, you can stand next to her and feel her warmth and energy. She flows. She's graceful and intelligent. I have actually attended situations because I knew she would be there and I knew I would be better for having been around her. I want to be like her. I want to be more at ease with the world around me and with myself. I know she battles it, but she doesn't let it bog her down. 

Even if you don't believe in auras, you can see and feel the one radiating off of Dixie. 

I love you girly and I hope you have a fantastic day.

Wow! I'm speechless. (Well, maybe not -- when have you ever known me to be speechless!)

Darling girl, we recognized kindred spirits in one another right away. And while you have chosen to close some doors in your life, I see you venturing outside your shell and I applaud. Life is an adventure!

What you saw in me was a choice, and not one I always make. I do try, but I get down, discouraged, angry and depressed too. and stubborn -- did I mention stubborn?

I feel good when I love and finding that love returned is always a delightful surprise! I cherish the friendships, those loves, so very much. You may not realize how much you contributed to the smiles and the warmth when we were together -- but it's true. You gave back more than you received from me. That's the open secret. What you give will return to you three-fold. You made it easy, love. I miss you.
