She's Come Undone -- Wally Lamb
"Mine is a story of craving: an unreliable account of lusts and troubles that began, somehow, in 1956 on the day our first television was delivered..." — Dolores Price, She's Come Undone
I spent a good portion of this book hating Delores Price. I hated her for her troubles. I hated her for the pain she caused those in her life. Mostly, though, I hated her for the pain she went through. I not only sympathized, but empathized as well. On the other hand, I really couldn't put the book down.
It's a great read and Wally Lamb does a great job of getting you involved in the story. He lets it unfold in a way that you can't help but feel her pain whether you've gone through any of that or not. I really can't wait to read some more of his work.
I want to be like the finished project of Delores when I grow up.
