Ok, so it's obvious that she's got some intelligence. But she acts like a fucking idiot. *blinks* She has come back and roughly voiced her high and mighty to everything everyone has said. Van Gogh is dead. I know I started it, but he's DEAD. We are not going to know what he was truly about or if he was truly mad and why if we WEREN'T THERE TO SEE IT, YOU STUPID DIPSHIT. I think it's too early in the morning to feel this hostile towards someone I've not even met. I'll "spank" her. *growl*
Is it possible that she just doesn't get the fact that when MANY people in a group tell you you suck, you might really suck.? On the other hand, I really hope she doesn't back out before she's really started. There are several members of the club I think she should meet face-to-face. I'm one of them. Who said it..Mistress Melissa said it, "You'd have to be crazy to pick a fight with you."
If anyone knows the "delicious morsel" and knows her well, offer her this: "It's obvious you have some stored up anger and frustrations from years of you knowing everything and everyone else being 'misinformed'. I understand how hard that can be. I offer to get you nice and secured to a cross at the playspace and have some of my big, strong friends (myself included) beat it out of you. I don't think anyone needs it more than you and I don't think anyone at the club will have had a better time."
pffft.
I'm not nearly as eloquent when I'm angry, but at least I feel better and now I can go get ready for work. Have fun y'all.

I just feel a bit unwelcome as I am allowed to read and at times respond but I am not allowed to start any threads.

Date: 2007-08-15 01:21 am (UTC)The people of RSVP do not make me feel unwelcome, It's the website.
that is right I am being dominated against my will by a series of codes.
From the beginning of RSVPLA.org I have been unable to find the actual list. I can log onto the website but am unable to find the list forum. I get posts via e-mail ( I have no way of knowing if I am getting them all) I am unable to start a new thread, only respond to a current one and at that less than %25 of my posts go through. I posted asking for help several times did not receive any and finally gave up. I have wasted many hours attempting to navigate the website and find it indecipherable.
As for a certain repellent glob. I have neither the time nor desire to engage but if I did--the tall purple chihuahua... Bites.

Date: 2007-08-15 12:01 pm (UTC)As to a certain repellent glob-- I went back and read over as many of the posts as I had received, coupled with my previous interaction a pattern is emerging.
I have seen this before in the scene and at RSVP particularly. Newcomers *meet* a few people whose grammar is lacksadasial or perhaps their vocabulary is a bit lacking, they may perform a rather menial job and assumptions are made as to the intelligence of the entire population. They assume that we are all a bunch of dumb yokels whacking each other with Nascar floggers.
They assume that they are the only people on the list with any level of education and proceed to flaunt it mightily.
This approach fails to take into account three very important points.
point #1 Many of our members not only failed to drop out of
HS they hold advanced degrees. Amongst the active and lurkers ( I am speaking of those who no longer actively attend parties and munches but who still hold RSVP and its predecessors in their hearts as their home and therefore continue to lurk) I am aware of 2 physicians and three attorneys. There are at least 2 dozen who have advanced degrees in everything from Engineering, Nursing, Psychology and Literature to the Arts. Hell, two of the lurkers have received PhD's.
point #2 The confusion of intelligence with education. I work with a woman who is one semester away from a Masters, dumb as a rock. I also know many people who have dropped out of HS and yet have a keen intellect, their understanding and knowledge of either their field or of topics that interest them can rival that of a formally educated person.
point #3 Making it obvious that you think you are smarter/better than other people... pisses them off.

Date: 2007-08-15 12:14 pm (UTC)Thanks y'all. Two major discussions that I've started now. I love that! Between this and Van Gogh, I've just been watching and smiling.
