Work Crap

I walked in (late again) this morning with the specific intention of actually getting some work done. I was moving right along when the Assistant Manager came in to let me know that because there was another safety incident yesterday (that makes 3 in less than 2 months), our company safety audit has been moved up to the beginning of next month. Oh goody. For an entire week I get to be here explaining things away to the safety guru. I also discussed with him about safety gloves for the prep department and he said that they couldn't have any because they waste them. They go through 10-12 pairs a day. This just isn't necessary according to him. I told him that he coulnd't tell them they were not *allowed* to use them. He wanted to argue about it and I didn't feel up to it so I just said "Ok, fine" and walked away.

There goes my (very little amount of) enthusiasm for work today. I've only been here an hour. Sheesh. I have got to find a job I can stand.

And on a side note? The post from yesterday? It was nothing sexual. Just and entirely intriguing situation that I feel I don't have control over so I am (must.type.word) vulnerable to compliments and reactions and such.

Pardon if it's nosy but...what kind of work do you do? What kind of work would you be looking for?

I work for a coal/petroleum coke testing lab. I am looking to do something closer to home with less responsibility.

Perhaps I should have been more specific. Are you clerical? Computers? Customer service? Bookkeeping? Billing? That's what I was referring to by "kind of work." :-)

No, really. I'm pretty versatile, I learn fast and can pick up on anything. Right now I'm a quality officer for the lab. I do statistics and handle safety stuff. I get dirty on occasion but I'm mostly behind my computer. Before that, in Denver, I did the reporting/office side of work for the same company. Before that I was the Admin Coordinator for a State Park in La and before that I worked for walmart and with people with disabilities.

I just want something with little responsibility that pays decently and will work around school.
