I just posted about this in my Myspace blog, but I'm putting it here too. In the past, amusement and happiness (or concern) has been expressed by people about the lifestyle showing up on various tv shows (specifically CSI). Last night on New York, the game Second Life appeared. The episode was even sponsored by Second Life and there is a way to get on the CBS website and act like a CSI also sponsored by Second Life (SL). I was so amused last night when I got online to see if anyone else had seen it and EVERYONE was talking about it. Every pm box, group box, announcement, group notice, etc conversation was about the primetime version of SecondLife. Very funny.
I put it off with my amusement and didn't really think much else about it until this morning when I received an email from UNO about a workshop being offered on how to create an account and an avatar in SL. Apparently they are doing this to prepare faculty and students for taking classes being offered in the spring on the SL UNO virtual campus. This is too funny. There is a chance of being able to be online, playing TE (Tiny Empires--A SL in-game game) and earning college credit for it. How sweet is that? What's going to be next? SL...the new world phenomenon.
